Fountain Valley, CA – The National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA) recently honored the Public Cable Television Authority (PCTA) as second and third-place winners at the Government Programming Awards, held at NATOA’s annual conference in Austin, TX.  The 2015 Huntington Beach 4th of July Parade took third place in the “Best Live Community Event Coverage” category, while the Public Cable Television Authority 2016 Promo garnered second-place honors in the “Visual Arts” category.

The Government Programming Awards honor excellence in broadcast, cable, multimedia and electronic programming produced by local government agencies from throughout the nation.  PCTA’s John M. Borack and Louis Rocha served as executive producers of the 4th of July Parade coverage, while Russ Cogdell was the producer of the PCTA 2016 Promo.

This year NATOA received more than 850 entries, up 7% from the previous year, submitted by local governments across the country.  PCTA’s 2016 entries finished ahead of programming submitted by Washington DC’s Office of Cable Television, the City and County of Denver, CO, and the City of Houston, TX.
