PUBLIC CABLE TELEVISION AUTHORITY WINS FIRST PLACE HONORS FOR EXCELLENCE IN LOCAL TELEVISION PROGRAMMING FOR FOUNTAIN VALLEY
– Local Agency Wins in Municipal Channel Promotion Category at 20th Annual Star Awards, Places in Two Other Categories –
(Fountain Valley) – The Public Cable Television Authority (PCTA) was recently honored by the Southern California and Nevada chapter of the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (SCAN-NATOA) at the 20th Annual Star Awards, which honors excellence in broadcast, cable, and electronic programming produced by local government agencies throughout Southern California and Nevada.
The “Public Cable Authority 2016 Promo” took first place in the Municipal Channel Promotion category. The award-winning piece is a brief look at the television production services that PCTA provides for the City of Fountain Valley and the other communities it serves. It also garnered second place honors in the Best Use of Animation or Motion Graphics category. Russ Cogdell is the segment’s producer.
Other PCTA-produced programs that were honored included “Fountain Valley: Special Olympics Host Town,” which was produced by Paul Silva and took second place in the Special Audience category; and “Young at Heart,” produced by C. Sue Braun, which spotlights senior citizen activities in the city of Fountain Valley, as well as three other local cities. The program won a third place award in the Senior Audience category.
Headquartered in Fountain Valley, the Public Cable Television Authority (PCTA) produces exclusive local programming for the cities of Fountain Valley, Westminster, Huntington Beach and Stanton. PCTA programming can be seen in Fountain Valley on Time Warner Cable Channel 3, Frontier FiOS Channel 21, and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99.
